Calls for video art

New Media Fest – Calls for video art

NewMediaFest’2010 will be a preview into the future by initiating new projects in new cooperations, and a review on the past 10 years by spotlighting during one year the most important projects realised in the framework of the global network.

In this way, NewMediaFest’2010 will bring a unique world heritage of digital art to the attention of the global audience, documenting the development of the Internet as a medium and tool for artistic creations during the past pioneering decade.

What nowadays is usual nearly at all places where Internet connection is available, i.e. broad bandwidth high speed Internet connection, did not exist at the start in 2000, but only comparingly low tech technology, and nobody had the idea, in what kind of speed and in which direction hard-and software technology might delelop and in this way, what the perspectives concerning an art creation might be – available to a broad audience as a part of daily culture.

NewMediaFest’2010 is planned as a networked festival online and offline (physical space) starting on 1 January 2010 and being finalised on 31 December 2010.

The networked aspects do not relate only to the internal network, consisting of all those project platforms representing the global network, but also and basically to the external network consiting of all the included artists, curators, and festival partners.

The festival program has only a vague shape, but will be coordinated as an live action online in form of a blog and a daily journal.

In this way, after the scheduled one year NewMediaFest’2010 will remain online as another new media art project in the framework of the global network.
