The Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) is seeking an intern for a three months long internship (possibility for extension). CRPM is one of the biggest and most prominent think tanks in Macedonia and is an equal opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse workplace.
Internships at CRPM are designed to provide participants with opportunities to grow professionally and personally. They are a chance to use academic knowledge in a practical environment, while learning and working alongside others that are passionate about their work. The internship is expected to begin in May-June 2010.
Tasks and responsibilities
* conducting targeted background research, tracking media coverage, assisting in the organization of training events and contributing to general office support duties, including updating of databases;
* providing research assistance for forthcoming meetings, articles, reports and other CRPM public activities;
* assisting with planning and organizing of CRPM events; assisting in finding and booking venues, researching potential speakers, arranging catering, contacting speakers, assisting at events, liasing with sponsors;
* communicate on the behalf of CRPM with relevant stakeholders in the government, the media, business and civil society sector;
* various administrative tasks as post, photocopying, handling purchase of minor office supplies, etc.
Criteria
* a relevant university degree (Master’s degree in public policy, political science, development studies, economics, international relations is a plus);
* proficiency in the usage of computer, Microsoft office, (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SPSS, Access);
* well-developed interpersonal and team working skills, works well under pressure;
* excellent communication and organization skills (HTML, Photoshop, journalism, website skills are a plus);
* candidates should be fluent in Macedonian with a good knowledge of English (knowledge of regional languages such as Albanian, Serbian or Roma is a plus)
