Call for Project Proposals on Peace and Dialogue, UNESCO

Deadline: 22.06.2010

UNESCO invites project proposals on peace and dialogue

UNESCO is calling for project proposals within the framework of The Power of Peace Network (PPN). Submitted projects should be related to the promotion of peace and dialogue, have realistic objectives, and be technically feasible. The deadline for submission is 22 June 2010.
PPN encourages initiatives promoting peace and dialogue among different groups, different countries or regions, and different communities and organizations. In order to further the goals of PPN, UNESCO is seeking funding proposals for concrete and executable projects related to peace building and dialogue, and targeting young people. Projects with strong online components are encouraged, as they will contribute to enriching the PPN website, which is currently being developped.

There are no restrictions as to who may submit a proposal. Schools, universities, non-governmental organizations, as well as individuals are invited to participate in this process.

The proposals should include the information about the project’s objectives, targeted group, implementation and evaluation. They should be sent, before 22 June 2010, to Mr Ming Kuok LIM, UNESCO, Division for Freedom of Expression, Democracy and Peace, either by email:

mk.lim@unesco.org

or by normal mail:

UNESCO, 1 rue Miollis, 75732 Paris Cedex 15, France

More information about this call for project proposals is available in the PDF document below.

The Power of Peace Network (PPN) is an interactive platform that seeks to harness innovative mechanisms to promote peace through media and ICT. It was initiated by UNESCO with the aim to increase mutual understanding around the world by supporting diverse social and cultural self-expression through modern tools of information and communication.

  1. guys we do posted the correct deadline, even called the UNESCO office in Paris yesterday, the mail address of the responsible person where you should submit the project is over quota and his colleagues know that, but he is out of the office and they could not do anything. We believe that they will now postpone the deadline because of this reason. We will keep you posted.
