REF Seeks a Desktop Publisher/Graphic Designer, Budapest

The Roma Education Fund is an international organization that aims to close the gap in educational outcomes between Roma and non-Roma through policies and programs that support quality education for Roma and through the desegregation of educational
systems in formal Decade for Roma Inclusion member countries.

The Roma Education Fund (REF) in Budapest is seeking qualified applicants for the position of desktop publisher and graphic designer (“Desktop Editor/Graphic Designer”).

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe programs (Photoshop, Acrobat, Indesign)
  • Experience working with printing houses
  • In-depth knowledge of the full preparation work required for publications based on technical needs
  • Strong knowledge of both English and Hungarian
  • Experience building a central graphic theme for a company’s brand
  • Possessing all necessary technical software, programs

  • Portfolio of previous design work and print publications
  • List of references
  • Sample A5 size information booklet on Roma education (cover page and one internal page with photo and text flow) using the central graphic theme
  • Sample one-page REF Newsletter using the central graphic theme
  • Draft poster introducing REF that uses the central graphic theme
  • Cost proposal for the design and layout of a 50-page A5 format publication (color cover, one color inner page) with the central graphic theme
  • Additionally, please submit a general quotation as follows: Layout/desktop editing  – HUF/page,  Graphics – HUF/piece,  Covers design – HUF/cover, Posters design – HUF/poster, Mutations – HUF/mutation

Selected applicants will be asked to elaborate on proposed graphic and design elements that may be used in the layout and design of all forthcoming REF publications in greater detail.
