Politecnico di Milano has announced the 2011-2012 Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, organized in partnership with POLI.design. It is open to students graduated in Architecture, Industrial Design or Engineering, and will start in March 2011.
For next five years Volkswagen Group Italia and Politecnico of Milano signed a partnership agreement on the Specialization Course in Transportation & Automobile Design, promoted by School of Design of the Politecnico of Milano.
The Specialization Course will train car designers who enhance their creative abilities in a peculiar and innovative way developing technical skills necessary for the design and development of car and transportation component.
According to the agreement next five editions of the Specialization Course will be focus on urban mobility, based on Milan context. Students will adapt their project works to the different Volkswagen products.
Volkswagen Group Italia will support several didactical initiatives for the Specialization Course in Transportation & Automobile Design, directly teaching and supervising students project works, to assure coherence with the car design companies needs.
The Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, promoted by Politecnico of Milano University and organized by POLI.Design, Consortium of Politecnico of Milano, will last 15 months and will have a value of 60 ECTS.
The course fee is 10 000,00 Euro per student, where: € 500,00 per student for registration fee to Politecnico di Milano; € 9 500,00 per student for participation at the Master.
Volkswagen Group offers 10 scholarships.
Eligibility
The enrolment in the Specializing Master in “Transportation & Automobile Design” requires a University Diploma, a Bachelor of Science degree, or a Master of Science degree in Industrial Design, Architecture and Engineering or, in alternative, an equivalent qualification.
Application Process
There will be a maximum of 24 students accepted.The admission to the Specializing Master in “Transportation & Automobile Design” is subjected to a selection.
This will be based on the evaluation of CV, a portfolio of projects and/or drawings and an individual interview to evaluate competences, potentiality and motivations of the candidate.
