BIJ (Bureau International Jeunesse), Belgium, is organizing a training course in Creativity and Innovation in youth in action.

Objectives:

  • To support youth workers and youth leaders to think in innovative ways of approaching youth related topics and develop creative solutions to increase the impact and efficiency of youth activities;
  • To analyze each step of a project (preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow up) and develop creative solutions to improve these steps in terms of process and quality results.
  • To develop innovative methodologies that increase effective participation of all project-actors involved in youth projects: partners, youngsters, local communities, policymakers, in order to bring these projects closer to the local community and increase their impact.
  • To address the question of the link between creativity and innovative entrepreneurship, this last word very often still being taboo in the field of youth work.

Methodology: The working tools and methods will be based on non formal education principles: exercises, games and group dynamics, in plenary or sub-groups, in which the participants are invited to “produce” the content of the training rather than to “swallow” information.

Training Team: Anita Silva and Jo Claeys (both freelance trainers). Profile can be consulted on the TOY-menu of the Salto website.

Eligibility

The training course is open to project managers, young people, youth leaders, youth workers from Youth in Action Programme countries.

Costs

For the YiA programme countries: Travel and visa costs of selected participants should be covered by the sending National Agencies. Please check with your National Agency if they would support these costs and if any additional participation conditions apply.

Hosting costs (accommodation, food, programme activities, local transport) will be covered by the BIJ (hosting National Agency).

For participants from the French Speaking Community of Belgium, a participation fee of 30 € is asked, and all other costs are taken in charge by BIJ: local travel, food, accommodation and activity costs.

  1. I am wondering if Serbia is eligible for this project? If it is, then I'm curious to know how can I contact this sending National Agency to inquire about the travel reimbursements? (if Serbia even has a National Agency)
