Description

The 8th International Short Film Festival Detmold wants to offer cultural exchange, enabling all participants to deepen their experience of life. Film as a form of art has the power to create a tolerant world – even if initially on screen only: it’s a first class medium for transporting unusual perspectives of our view of the world and our actions.

The festival will take place from 7th to 10th June 2012 in Detmold, Germany.

Eligibility

The organizers are happy to welcome a lot of international film producers, artists in Detmold. This program will be accompanied by a whole number of installations, events, happenings and concerts.

Fiction, Documentary, Experimental and Animation films (max. 15 min) can be submitted for the selection. Exceptions can be made.

Application

Required information via E-mail include:

  • Filled in entry form
  • 2 digital stills form the film (300dpi)
  • Recent photograph of the director (300dpi)

The entry form has to be send to the festival organizers of ISFF Detmold before the submission deadline, including the required materials and a preview copy ( admissible formats see below). The submissions will be selected by the organizers of the festival. All the decisions are final. Legal process is ruled out.

The following formats are accepted for screening:

  • MOV-Container, PAL(SD)-resolution, DV-Codec, output field:
    bottom first, 48 KHZ, 16 Bit
  • AVI-Container, PAL(SD)-resolution, DV-Codec, output field:
    bottom first, 48 KHZ, 16 Bit

It would be enough to have 5 secs before and after the film without the beep tone.
Sound: -3 db would be perfect.
Your films exclusively have to be in one of the named formats above and be send either via upload or via digital medium.

The film copies should be subtitled in English. Otherwise the submission will be not selected. It is also requested for German films.

Requirements

  • The subject is “m e l a n c h o l y”, which doesn´t mean you can´t hand in your film, it is meant to be an encouragement to put the idea of an uncreated film, art object and installations into practice.
  • Max. 15 min.
  • Entryform (online + per ordinary mail)
  • Bio-/filmography
  • Photograph of the director
