Description

The International Student Week in Belgrade (ISWiB) is a one-week student festival open to students of all European Universities.

The association World Youth Wave has so far successfully organized five ISWiBs, the first as a pilot project in 2006, a second one in 2007, a third one in 2009, the fourth one in 2010 and finaly, the fifth one in 2011. ISWiB 2011 has gathered around 200 students from all over Europe who participated in a variety of workshops, panel discussions and lectures.

International Student Week in Belgrade will be held for the sixth time this year, in the period from 15th till 22th July, under the motto “Youth changing the world”. The festival will gather approximately 150 participants from the whole of Europe, with the aim of exchanging opinions and views about the hot issues that a modern society has to face, as well as overcoming global differences through a communication, personal contacts and mutual understanding.

ISWiB is a meeting platform for young people with different cultural backgrounds; it is a place to get to know each other, establish new friendships and discuss various topics, from various points of view. Through close communication and cooperation, interactive lectures and workshops, students will be able to gain new knowledge and exchange ideas in the fields ofeconomics & marketing, politics & youth activism, project managment, media, theatre, design, photography and filmmaking. Students will also have an opportunity to establish professional contacts with eminent professors and professionals from different fields and develop and create new projects by themselves.

The goal is to establish international cooperation and contacts by creating a healthy working environment and enabling stronger bonds among domestic and foreign students. By promoting the idea of the “citizen of Europe” and “citizen of the World”, they insist on embracing intercultural and European values and bringing them to a global level of mutual respect and understanding.

Eligibility

All European students and those from the other continents but studying in Europe at the moment, can apply for ISWiB. All fields of study are welcome, there are no special requirements. Recently graduated students are also welcome.

The official language of ISWiB is English.

Costs

Participation Fee is 90 euros for foreign participants and 45 euros for the participants from Serbia.

      Sorry, but the travel costs will not be covered by the organizers. You can find this information in the FAQ's.
      "10. What will my expenses be?
      You will need to pay the participation fee that will cover food and accommodation in the amount of 90 euros (45 euros for students from Serbia), as well as the expenses of travelling to and from Serbia. Personal expenses and pocket money (which covers optional events, additional parties, entrance to the museums etc.) must also be covered by you."

      I would encourage you next time to look at the Official Website very closely before asking. On the front page, News section you can clearly see : "Application deadline extended!
      Due to a large number of students from the whole of Europe expressing interest in the last few days, the Organizing team of ISWiB 012 has decided to extend the application deadline to April, the 15th 2012. "
      So, yes we are pretty sure the deadline is extended.
