Description
Find a story, think creatively, think critically, work on the synopsis, make a step outline, prepare a treatment, give a pitch, get a green light, hire the crew, conduct meetings, manage the budget, the schedule as well, oversee the process, handle the pressure, make decisions, solve problems…PRODUCE creative documentary. HOW?
MakeDox and Public Room are organizing a 5- day workshop where producer Carmen Cobos will introduce you to the world of international co-productions. On the basis of your two page synopsis Carmen will examine with you and the group how to prepare your project for presentation, which elements to focus on during a pitching session and how to create a lasting working relationship with international financiers. In addition she will provide in five consecutive presentations an overview of the important aspects of producing a creative documentary for the international market.
The range of subjects will be:
- from idea to treatment,
- from budgeting to financing,
- from pre-production to production,
- from post-production to delivery and
- from promotion to international sales;

The workshop will take place from 16-20 June 2012 in Skopje, Macedonia.
Costs
Although the organizers would be glad to offer you this workshop for free, they will have to ask selected candidates for advanced payment of board and lodging participation fee of €100 (per person).
Eligibility
The workshop is open to all candidates (students and professionals) that have a documentary project in any phase of development. Also, please note that English will be the working language.
