Photo Competition – Life 2.0 Ready for a new start?

Description

Organised by the European Socialist Group in the Committee of the Regions, the theme of the competition is: Life 2.0 – Ready for a new start?. Taking place within the framework of the 2012 European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, this year’s photo competition seeks to break and disregard stereotypes about ageing. Through their photos, participants are asked to capture the notion of “Active Ageing” and to  show how senior citizens can be active, work longer and be fully integrated in society.

Prizes

  • First prize: Two long week-end trips for two persons to two European cities of their choice and a tablet computer.
  • Second prize: One long week-end trip for two persons to one European city of their choice and a tablet computer.
  • Third prize: A tablet computer

In addition, winners of the competition will be invited to take part in an award ceremony during the second half of 2012.

Eligibility

The competition is open to any nationality. Nevertheless, entrants have to be resident in one of the 27 EU Member States.
This year, to celebrate Active Ageing, the age limit has been extended. Entrants aged 18 to 108 are allowed to enter the competition.
Each participant is allowed to submit one photo to the competition.

Application

For applying to the competition, please consider the following things:

  • Photos have to be uploaded in JPEG format up to a maximum of 800 pixels along the longest edge.
  • The size of your image should not exceed 1Mb. Your image file should be named with your first and family names like this firstname_familyname.jpg (example: john_smith.jpg).
  • Entrants must keep a copy of the images in the original format. All entrants must be able to supply the image in high resolution.  Images must be printable in 20cm x 30cm format at a minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch).
