Communication Assistant at IFOAM EU Group

Description

International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements is now looking for Communication Assistant to efficiently and professionally assist in the tasks at hand within the IFOAM EU Communication department: Maintenance of website, production and promotion of newsletter and other publications, built-up of a photo archive and contact database as well as feeding into the social media channels and monitoring of media outreach.
Key tasks

  • Involvement in production of IFOAM EU publications and info material
  1. Keep the IFOAM EU Group website updated and informative
  2. Contribute to the overhaul of the IFOAM EU website
  3. Write and edit IFOAM EU related information: website, newsletter, event promotion, sponsoring texts…
  4. Assist in sending out/publishing IFOAM EU material, e.g. press releases, membership info, event promotion, project results
  • Contributing to set-up of effective databanks
  1. Build up picture archive
  2. Feed into the process of developing a contact database
  3. Build up a media impact archive
  • Supporting the conceptual work on the use of social media
  1. Assist in determining what social media to use and with what target
  2. Implement the social media concept
  • Maintaining and developing media relations
  1. Contribute to expanding IFOAM EU’s media network

Eligibility

Education & Qualifications

  • Educated to higher level education or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • (e.g. communication, marketing, journalism, media, public relations)
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience

Experience – Essential

  • Native level command of English
  • Editing of English texts
  • Proficient user of photoshop, paint, word, excel, powerpoint
  • Experience in maintaining websites
  • Experience – Desirable
  • Efficient user of indesign, drupal, wordpress
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining databases
  • Knowledge of other EU languages
  • Knowledge about EU institutions and EU processes

Remuneration

Full time position, based at the IFOAM EU Group office in Brussels: Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week. Flexible working hours possible. 24 days of holiday per year. This position is limited to one year (maternity replacement), further employment to be seen in the run of the year.
Gross salary between 19,000€ to 24,000€ (12.92 salaries) subject to qualifications and experience, plus net contributions of ca. ca. 220€/month.
