The D&F Academy
Internship in international Academy in the area of Program Implementation
Location: Hamburg, Germany, Starting: August or September 2012 (3-6 months)
Employer: The D&F Academy was launched by the Dekeyser &Friends Foundation with the aim of creating a school of life, a platform where knowledgeable and inspiring personalities can pass on their experience to young people from around the world in hands-on learning projects.
The D&F Academy offers unique one-year educational programs in the areas of global issues, arts & culture and sports. Each project enables 15 talented young adults from around the globe aged 18 to 28 to learn from an inspiring mentor and eminent experts, reflect on passionate ideas and plan and implement their own ventures aimed at impacting the world.
In the first ten weeks, the Fellows work on a Challenge given to them by their Friend, and prepare their venture ideas through the participation in our start-up program. In the following ten months, the Fellows return to their home countries and kick off their start-ups, learning by doing while being supported through our online curriculum and mentors. Job Description:
Interns and volunteers are crucial to accomplishing the mission of the D&F Academy and are valued members of our team. For our D&F Academy Hamburg we are looking for an intern who will assist the program team in the planning and implementation of our projects, i.e.
● Administrative support for the Head of the Academy
● Assistance in supporting the project participants (Fellows) before and during the projects
● Supporting the organization of the projects’ online-learning components, as well as the follow-up monitoring of the Fellows
An internship at the D&F Academy will provide the opportunity -depending on the period- to assist in getting to know all phases of a project from the selection of the Fellows, the implementation of the project and the follow-up online program for the Fellows.
Candidate profile:
Every member of our team is passionate about our work and aims to leave a lasting impression on the world. Next to displaying a clear motivation for joining us you should be enrolled in a Bachelor or Masters degree program in Communication, Business, Sociology, Development, Cultural Studies or any other field related to the areas of our work.
We expect our interns to be highly proficient in English and German and be able to work with all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.). Ideally you have already gained some work experience in the business or non-profit field and are able to work self-driven and independently.
