Paid Тraineeships in the European Economic and Social Committee

Deadline: September 30th (12.00 noon – Brussels time) and 31st March (12.00 noon – Brussels time), 2013
Open to: university graduates who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as to a number of university graduates from non-EU countries (long-term traineeship).
Remuneration: around 1000 EUR monthly ( duration 5 months)

Twice a year the European Economic and Social Committee offers traineeships for a period of five months to university graduates who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as to a number of university graduates from non-EU countries.

These periods of in-service training offer an opportunity to learn about the EESC’s roles and activities and to acquire professional experience in a multicultural environment. They begin on 16 February and 16 September of each year and take place in the Committee’s offices in Brussels.

As the EESC receives far more applications than places available it is important:

If your application has been pre-selected, you will receive an email which will inform you about this. At this point, you are required to send copies of relevant documents (university diplomas, contracts of previous employment, identity card or passport). Candidates who are not in possession of a university diploma can send a letter provided by the university, stating that they have successfully completed the course of study in question.

It is not necessary to have certified copies made of your university degree certificate(s).

You must also send originals of a police record, as well as a medical certificate (trainees have to prove that they are medically fit to serve during the training period).

Other documents (e.g. detailed curriculum vitae or references) may optionally be attached to your application form in support of your application and must reach the training office before the closing date.

Opening date of on-line applications on 1 July- closing date 30 September (12.00 noon – Brussels time) for the traineeship period from 16 February 2013 to 15 July 2013
Make sure that you keep copies of all documents sent to the training office.

Do not send the originals of your degree certificate(s) or other supporting documents (except where specified above).

  1. Hi everyone,
There is a point in the document that if somebody has already been a paid trainee for more than six weeks in any institution of EU can not participate
Could you be so kind to let me know if this also applies to those who has passed an unpaid traineeship even though at EU institution
    thanks in advance

    1. Dear Nana,

We do not have such information here, but we urge you to direct your questions to the contact persons of the organizers. However, since you say that your traineeship was unpaid there should not be a problem. Check with the organizers to be sure.

      Regards,

  3. Dear Sir,

  4. Dear Nana,
I applied for this trainee-ship and i submitted my application. However I did not received any registration number to my email address. What should I do to get this? I was trying to apply once again, but system wrote me that person with my contact details already registered. That means that I submitted my application correctly.

    Best regards,
    Vita

      1. Yes Vita, if you have been informed that your contact details have already been registered, it probably means that you have submitted your application. Were you informed prior to the application that you will get a registration number to your email address?

  5. Hello Mladiinfo,

    I would like to ask:
    – is it enough when I have bachelor diploma to be able to enroll?
    – the second deadline is 31st March 2013. In case master diploma is necessary, can I enroll also when I will finish my master program studies in late May or early Jun in 2013?

Thank you for your reply and have a nice day!
    Sophia

    1. Dear Sophia,

You might want to ask the contact persons to this opportunity precisely what type of degree is wanted. For any details please check the official website/ write to the contact persons.

      Kind regards,
      Mladiinfo team

  6. Hello ,

  7. Can students from Bosnia and Hecegovina apply for this traineeshep, since BiH is not a member state?
I am aware that they mentioned that some otger states that are not member states can apply, so I am wondering is BiH one of those states?

    1. Dear Alma,

It is not specified which university graduates from non-EU countries can apply. You can check with the organizers for more specific information. Note that the student status is not criteria for eligibility. You need to provide an university diploma.

      Regards,
      Mladiinfo team

  8. Thank You for your answer..I have university diploma..bachelour degree: Bachelour of Law..
O.K..I will check is BiH one of the non-Eu countries that can apply with organizers..
    Thank you, once again

  9. Could you please let me know if there is a specific list with certain medical exams and whether these exams along with the criminal record are supposed to reach the training office by the 30th of September (as it stands for the rest of the required documents) or alternatively, we could send them after our final selection?

    1. There is not quite specification whether to send those documents before or after 30th Sept but reading the post, it gives impression that you need to include the specified documents before the 30th, not after. However, you might want to contact and check with the organizers.

  10. Hi Mladiinfo,
I would like to know about "long term traineeship" for non-EU countries. Is that also the same application form to fill? Or another schedule and application form?
    Thanks in advance..

    1. We just re-posted the information that was sent to us form the official institution, as far as we can read there is that is the same application. but for more detailed info is better to contact the institution directly

    1. Please note that Mladiinfo does not give scholarships or any financial support or is connected with any institution, but only INFORMS about different opportunities. For more information please address the relevant institution that published the call.

  11. Hello people!! I have a question. You know that competition in selection is quite high. I have already received an email saying that my application is valid and it will be forwarded to the internal services of ESSC. This process is slightly different relative to other institutions e.g. Commission. Would you suggest to lobby for our application to internal units? I know that this is the rule as for the Commission traineeships otherwise you have no chance, but I have no idea if this is a good idea for the ESSC…Thanks in advance !!

    1. Dear Yannis,

Mladiinfo team is not familiar with such type of information, but if anyone else here has an answer feel free to post.

Best of luck in your application process,
      Mladiinfo team
