The 15th FICA – International Environmental Film and Video Festival, will take place in the town of Goiás, State of Goiás, Brazil, from July 02nd to 07th, 2013.

The objectives of the 15th FICA is to promote, show and award prizes to short (up to 29 minutes), medium (from 30 to 59 minutes) and feature-length (from 60 minutes onwards) films and videos, in animated, fiction or documentary format, focusing on environmental issues, produced in any part of the world, putting into practice actions for teaching and training in the audiovisual field.


  • Environmentally-themed 35mm and 16mm films, videos (in any format) and TV series, all produced from January 1st, 2011 are eligible to enter.
  • Applicants from around the world are invited to apply.


I. GRAND PRIZE CORA CORALINA for the best film or video in the competitive screening, consisting of a trophy and R$50,000.00 (fifty thousand reais);
II. CARMO BERNARDES TROPHY and R$35,000.00 (thirty-five thousand reais) for the best feature film or video;
III.JESCO VON PUTKAMER TROPHY and R$25,000.00 (twenty-five thousand reais) for the best medium-length production;

IV.ACARI PASSOS TROPHY and R$25,000.00 (twenty-five thousand reais) for the best short production;

V. JOÃO BÊNNIO TROPHY and R$40,000.00 (forty thousand reais) for the best film or video produced in the State of Goiás;
VI.BERNARDO ÉLIS TROPHY and R$25,000.00 (twenty-five thousand reais) for the best environmental television series.

VII.JOSÉ PETRILLO TROPHY for the best film or video chosen by the expert press.

How to enter

Entries will be accepted from March 18th to April 19th, 2013, by completing the appropriate form online on the Festival website

Entry forms must be properly filled out and sent by the producer or filmmaker and sent to the Organizing Committee of the 15th Festival with the following items:

  • Credits and a synopsis;
  • 2 copies of multiregional DVD or an internet link from which the film/video can be downloaded;
  • script or dialog list in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English;

This material should be sent by regular (Official Post), express mail or by the internet (e-mail and link so the film/ video can be downloaded for with the following information written on the package: “FILM INTENDED FOR REGISTRATION IN FILM FESTIVAL, WITH NO COMMERCIAL VALUE, and registration number”, and addressed to:
