Description

The Dell Social Innovation Challenge aims to transform university students into active social innovators. DSIC connects university students to the people, tools and opportunities they need to change the world. The challenge is part competition and part community. Students compete for cash prizes to put their social innovation projects into action and connect with a worldwide community of supportive, likeminded educators and professionals.

Now, the 2013 Dell Education Challenge is accepting ideas to innovate and revitalize primary/K12 education worldwide.

Eligibility

Any undergrad or graduate student, male or female, in any field of study, from any country, can enter the challenge. Students can enter a project at any stage, whether they’ve just thought of an idea or are already running an organization. Nonprofit, for-profit or blended ideas are eligible.

$10,000 Grand Prize
$5,000 Second Place
$2,500 Third Place
$2,500 Fourth Place

DSIC will select 10 additional “Promising Projects” and provide cash awards of $1000 designed to enable field testing for the best ideas improving primary/K-12 education.

Application

Entry deadline is 23 September 2013. To enter the competition you need to register here and submit your idea.

Semi-Finalists will be announced by 4 October 2013. During the period between 4-18 October they the Semi-Finalist will receive mentoring. On 8 November the Finalists will be announced. Awards ceremony will take place in the early December 2013.
