Description

The Romanian organization GEYC (Group of the European Youth for Change) and the Turkish organization Young Initiative Association are launching a call for European partners for Social Media Summit, a Youth in Action training course which will be held from 24th to 31st of March 2014 in Antalya, Turkey. It is planned to host between 35 and 40 participants from 10 to 20 countries.

This training course aims for people who think that social media could make a difference in their organisation or people that are interested to improve your organizational capacity in the field of communication, fundraising, volunteers management with the support of social media.

The objectives of Social Media Summit are:

  1. To inform the participants about social media tools
  2. To raise awareness about the European values, principles and institutions
  3.  To build competencies of the participants in using social media for youth work, communication and public relations
  4.  To establish a network of youth leaders working with media

Eligibility

The eligible partners must fulfill the following conditions:

  • non profit organisations/public institutions located in European Union (EU) or European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) excepting Romania (which has the role of organizer) – please note that organisations from other countries are not eligible for this action;
  • each partner will nominate 2-3 participants for this training course;
  • partner organisations need to be interested to improve their social media capacity;

Costs

The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission: 
  • 100% of meals, accommodation, training activities, training materials;
  • 70% of transport costs (as a reimbursement after all justifying documents are provided);
  • 100% of visa costs (if needed)

Application

Interested organisations need to apply before 20th of September 2013 by sending a single e-mail to [email protected] with the following format:

  • Subject: [SMS] – Country – Name of organisation (please respect this format otherwise application to get in the spam folder);
  • Attachments: please download the following two documents Questionnaire and Agreement and send it as following: Questionnaire, in .doc format, after you fill in all the information; and Agreement, you need so fill, print, sign, stamp and scan it back;
