Maailmanvaihto ry – ICYE Finland has four EVS projects looking for volunteers from August 2014 onwards for 12 months:

1) Myllylähde-yhteisö / Myllylähde Community 2010-FI-19
Places available: 2
Short description: Myllylähde is a Camphill community, which provides care and work activities for mentally disabled adults. The community has about twenty members and it is active in biodynamic farming and handicrafts. The activities of the volunteers differ from season to season, but farming and gardening, handicrafts, outdoor activities, cultural activities and accompanying/socialising form the core tasks. Myllylähde is located in a countryside village of Hämeenkoski in Southern Finland.

2) EKOenergy / Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Helsinki) 2012-FI-24
Places available: 1
Short description: The volunteer works at the EKOenergy department of the Finnish Association for Nature conservation. According to the interests and skills of the volunteers the tasks may include, for instance, communicating with environmental organizations and electricity companies in various countries, following up the registration of power plants (in particular hydropower plants) into the EKOenergy system, communicating (via e.g. Facebook and Twitter) about renewable energy/electricity, updating databases, translating, making lay-outs for publications and setting up activities.

3) Helsingin lyhytaikaiskoti ja työpaja Lyhty ry / Lato (Helsinki) 2010-FI-32
Places available: 1
Short description: The volunteer works as an assistant in an outdoor workshop “Lato” which is a workshop for 15 adults with learning disabilities. The volunteer helps the team members in outdoor work, such as gardening, and in other daily activities.

4) Helsingin lyhytaikaiskoti ja työpaja Lyhty ry / A-B-C Housing Services (Helsinki) 2010-FI-32
Places available: 1
Short description: The volunteer works as an assistant in “A-B-C” housing services of a non-profit non-governmental association called “Lyhty” which provides housing-, education-, and work activity services for adults with learning disabilities. The volunteer’s tasks include assisting the residents in free-time activities and providing a clean and aesthetic home for them, participating in the community and activating people in it as well as other daily activities.

Open to young motivated people 18-30 years old coming from Macedonia.
