Description

The Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship is a collaborative, transatlantic program on international relations and global diversity. The Fellowship is designed to develop leadership skills and knowledge among graduate students aspiring to careers in foreign policy. The Fellows are required to build upon these far-reaching policy discussions by producing research and writing articles. Through this program, Humanity in Action seeks to promote constructive diplomacy in a changing world through innovative and inclusive approaches to national and international issues. The fellowship program will take place in USA, Washington DC.

Eligibility

Interested applicants may apply if they met the  all eligibility criteria associated with his/her country:

  • USA –  Applicants must reside in, currently study in or hold citizenship of the United States and be enrolled in a graduate or advanced professional programs (master’s, doctorate, MD, JD, MBA, etc.) at the time of the application deadline.
  • Europe– Applicants must reside in, currently study in or hold citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey or Ukraine and be enrolled in a a graduate or advanced professional programs (master’s, doctorate, MD, JD, MBA, etc.) at the time of the application deadline.

All applicants should be pursuing a career in a field such as diplomacy, security, international relations, development, public health, trade and economics, climate and environmental policy, media or non-profit management.

Fellowship

The Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship consists of three stages. First, Humanity in Action convenes a group of 24 American and European graduate students for an intense four-week program in Washington, DC, Paris and Berlin. The Fellows participate in discussions and site visits with experts and practitioners from foreign ministries and governmental agencies, international NGOs, universities,… Fellows play an active role in the program by leading discussions, introducing speakers and sharing research.
After the formal program, the Fellows research and write articles on contemporary issues in international relations that relate to diversity or pluralism. Upon successful completion of the program and completion of their articles, Fellows are designated as “Senior Fellows” and join the international community of over 1,400 Humanity in Action Senior Fellows.

During the fellowship program the Fellows are provided  accommodations, flights, local transportation and food.
