Volunteer as an English Teacher in Colombia!

The Nukanti Foundation in cooperation with the local Department of Education and the NGOs Ilewasi and Libertas International from Spain want to invite English language speakers to support the educational programs for the children of the public schools of Risaralda, Colombia. These speakers will teach in classes and create after-school activities in order to improve the English language skills of both students and local English teachers. The project will be active the months of June, July, August and September 2015. The future volunteers can choose to come one, two or three months. The participants will have to go through a selection process and will be responsible of arranging their travel to Risaralda.


All volunteers are required to be fluent English speakers from any country, but especially young people from Germany, Netherlands, UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Finland are welcomed. Previous experiences in volunteer work abroad and/or education/teaching are beneficial but not required. Basic Spanish is beneficial but not required. It will make it easier for the volunteers to integrate into the local community.


A project is a great opportunity for volunteers to get more experience in the area of education and volunteering. Moreover, the program covers accommodation with host families, meals and local transport in the city of Risaralda. International travel costs and travel insurance are not covered.
