Falling Walls is a unique international platform for leaders from the worlds of science, business, politics, the arts and society. It has been initiated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. Inspired by this world-changing event on 9 November 1989, the question of every Falling Walls gathering is: Which walls will fall next? Falling Walls fosters discussion on research and innovation and promotes the latest scientific findings among a broad audience from all parts of society.
In an effort to keep the public informed on life-changing scientific breakthroughs, the Falling Walls Science Fellowship for Journalists has been created. It is aimed to journalists and bloggers with at least three years of experience, and who hope to advance their knowledge in the area of sciences. The Fellows get the opportunity to attend the Falling Walls Lab, Falling Walls Venture and the Falling Walls Conference on 8 and 9 November 2015 in Berlin.
Freelancers, full-time journalists or bloggers can apply. Professionals in fields such as research, teaching, public relations and advertising are not eligible. The applicants must have a minimum of three years professional journalism/blogging experience.
The fellowship includes travel expenses (economy class), accommodation for 3 nights, conference fees and meals (breakfast at hotel, catering during the Falling Walls events).
How to apply?
Applicants must complete the online form and submit two work samples together with a CV and cover letter (both in English) stating their motivation to apply for the fellowship. Application deadline is 31 July 2015.
