“Theatre of Peace Live” Project for Young Creatives

UDIK’s office in Sarajevo contributes to the development of individual and social process of dealing with the past to build a sustainable peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region deepening public dialogue and initiating debate on public policies that encourage dealing with the past, gathering data, publishing researches about war happenings, war crimes and violations of human rights, promoting peace activism and following trials at local and regional level as a contribution to improving judicial standards and practices in war crimes trials. The Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) from Sarajevo and the Association Dea Dia from Belgrade, supported by Schuler Helfen Leben (SHL) call young activists to participate on the project “Theatre of Peace Live”. “Theater of Peace Live” is a project that will take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia where the participants will stay for a month in these countries and then perform the “Theatre of Peace Live”. In these two countries participants will be trained in acting, dealing with the past and concrete examples of war crimes. The first part of the project will be implemented in Serbia and the second part of the project will be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the participants in a creative way will perform a play on the square of the city where the project is implemented.

Eligibility

Participants have to be:

  • Young people between 18-28 years old from Bosnia and Herzegovina and/or Serbia;
  • Communicative;
  • Creative;
  • Interested in learning about facing the past and therefore for reconciliation talks.

Costs

All costs will be covered by the organizers.

The call is open until 10 July, 2015 for candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia who are 18-28 years old. Please fill in the application form and send  by e-mail to udik@outlook.com (for Bosnia and Herzegovina) or to office@deadia.co.rs (for Serbia).
