Description

Roma Youth Centre is an organization working on the empowerment of young people, in particular Roma, to help them be active part of the civic society and the community they live in, to represent the voice of the new generation as potential of tomorrow. Main areas of work are non formal education, intercultural learning, social inclusion, human rights, promotion of youth mobility and youth participation, study and research of youth policies and activities, young people in democratic participation activities with social, cultural and educational topics; campaigns and training.

The European Union’s Fundamental Rights Agency concluded that the Roma are the most discriminated group in the EU: “Every second Roma respondent said that they were discriminated against on the basis of their ethnicity”. The activity will equip participants with specific methodology Living Library. The context of the real situation on the ground with the Roma people in different EU counties will be addressed in a creative way. The TC will be held from 4-12 October 2015 in Struga, Macedonia.

Eligibility

30 young people over 18 years who are motivated, interested to develop idea for local initiative and ready for local changes from: Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Turkey, France, Slovenia, Slovakia, Italy and United Kingdom.

Costs

The hosting organization will cover full board and lodging costs, and travel costs, after providing original invoices, tickets, boarding passes.

There is participation fee of EUR 20 per participant.
