Description
The XXI. International Summer University in Kőszeg at the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg which will take place from 19 June to 1 July 2016 focuses on the issue of the current European crisis: the crisis of democracy and European identity.
The main topics:
- Global disparities and its social effects;
- Responses to global crisis;
- The role of the EU in global governance;
- Sustainability;
- The migration crisis;
- The future of democracy in a world of inequalities;
- Cultural heritage and the creative industry;
- Creative cities, smart cities;
- KRAFT – regional development in Central Europe.
Eligibility
- Students, young professionals and academics from all around the world;
- Willing to deliver a presentation or a statement addressing the topic of the Summer University, or highlighting their own creative ideas & solutions;
- Willing to get engaged in a dialogue about the shared future, the complexities of current transformations, and the growing social responsibility in re-imaging Europe.
Costs
- Participation fee is 400 EUR;
- Full or partial scholarships are available for those who handle out decent motivation letter and a good proposal/paper with a good topic.
How to Apply?
The application package must include the following documents:
1) Completed application form;
2) Motivation letter (including a 200-word summary of your possible presentation or statement);
3) Curriculum Vitae (including information on your previous study abroad if any: programs, countries, dates attended).
Please indicate in the application form which manner you intend to cover your participation costs:
a) Self financed participation (the fee includes accommodation and tuition);
b) Full scholarship (accommodation+ tuition);
c) Half scholarship (tuition waiver).
