Description

As an international nature film competition, the Festival offers motivated filmmakers a platform for presenting their latest work. The call is open for documentary and short films produced in 2014 or later, which deal with the topic of nature and/or environment, with a special category dedicated to young filmmakers.

Four film festival days with film presentations and a high-quality side program — from 18th to 21st October 2016 — are the framework for an on-topic, ecological, and artistic discourse at the Innsbruck Leokino Cinema in Austria.

There are six categories:

  • Documentaries Environment;
  • Documentaries Nature;
  • Short Films;
  • Animated Short Films;
  • Young Talents <up to 19 years;
  • Young Talents <up to 25 years.

Eligibility

  • Motivated filmmakers a platform for presenting their latest work;
  • Open for documentary and short films produced in 2014 or later, which deal with the topic of nature and/or environment;
  • Only films in German or English language respectively with German or English subtitles are accepted.

Award

Documentaries

  • Nature: “GRAND PRIZE OF THE CITY OF INNSBRUCK for the best DOCUMENTARY.Nature” worth EUR 3,000;
  • Environment: “GRAND PRIZE OF THE CITY OF INNSBRUCK for the best DOCUMENTARY.Environment”  worth EUR 3,000.

Short film

  • Short Films: “CANON AWARD for the best SHORT FILM” worth EUR 2,000;

  • Animated Short Films: “CANON AWARD for the best ANIMATED SHORT FILM” worth EUR 2,000.

Young talents

  • Up to 19 years: “TIROLER TAGESZEITUNG AWARD FOR YOUNG TALENTS up to 19 years” worth EUR 1,000;
  • Up to 25 years: “TIROLER TAGESZEITUNG AWARD FOR YOUNG TALENTS up to 25 years” worth EUR 1,000.
