Description

The World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-mobile) selects and promotes the world’s best mobile content and applications. Founded in 2010 as the sister to the World Summit Award, WSA-mobile aims biannually  to raise public awareness and recognition for the highest quality, most innovative e-Content produced worldwide and to make the best products accessible and meaningful around the world.

The World Summit Award and its global network use twelve years of expertise to answer the question: “In our Information Society that constantly overwhelms us with information, products, and services, how can we know which mobile start-ups are making the most impact and effort to change our lives and our world?” Mobile development offers manifold solutions, but you are convinced that your mobile app is changing the ways of your community and can prove useful to support the deployment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals?

Eligibility

Digital innovation initiated and executed by young people under the age of 30 (born on or after January 1, 1986) from any of the UN and UNESCO member states.

Awards

A global network of experts nominates the 8 best local apps to the world-wide contest. The submissions are evaluated by an international Grand Jury, who then select 40 winners. The winners are invited to the WSA-mobile Global Congress to showcase their innovation on a global stage.

To select the 40 winners of WSA mobile 2016, especially assembled international experts will assess all nominations in 2 independent democratic rounds. From November 1st, 2016 to January 15th, 2017, over 70 Jurors will work on selecting the top 40 apps improving society in the 8 WSA mobile categories. Winners will be published in February 2017.

How to apply?

To take part in the WSA-mobile global contest, you have to be nominated by your national expert. There is no open registration.

He or she nominates eight apps from your country – one in each contest category. Find your national expert, prove the value of your product and get your ticket for the Winners’ Events 2016 in Abu Dhabi! To get in contact with your national expert, please contact office@worldsummitawards.org. The deadline has been prolonged till 30 October 2016.
