Explorative Workshops „Mobility – Knowledge – Society“

Deadline: 09 March 2018
Open to: scholars with a doctoral degree in social sciences or humanities
Grant: travel costs, accommodation and meals

Description

The Forum Transregionale Studien and the Max Weber Stiftung – Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland (MWS) invite scholars to explore their research questions and develop projects in the framework of Explorative Workshops. They offer open and flexible formats and strong scholarly networks as well as our support in conceptual development, practical organization and funding. Explorative Workshops provide a team of scholars with diverse regional expertise an intensive small-scale setting to probe and generate ideas and research questions. They support workshops that address issues from a transregional perspective and combine a systematic problem-oriented approach with an engagement of area-based competences.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities and be currently affiliated with a German university or research institute (including German institutes abroad).

Costs

The workshop is financed with a fixed sum allowing 15 to 20 researchers including the conveners to participate in the event (travel costs, accommodation, and meals). To a limited extent, the travel costs for participants from outside of Europe can also be covered. No professional fees can be paid.
