As the world’s largest business organization, ICC relies on a very diverse and international team specialized in a broad range of work areas – from public policy through to arbitration. ICC Dispute Resolution Services offers students who wish to complement their studies and their first experience in arbitration to learn further in an international environment.
The Secretariat of the ICC Court of Arbitration is currently looking for:
- Arbitration Interns for our Arbitration Case Management Teams
The internship is for a non-flexible period of 3 months starting on 3 January 2019. The Intern will be under the supervision of a Counsel of one of the arbitration case management teams in Paris.
- Arbitration Trainees
The Traineeship is for a non-flexible period of 6 months starting 3 January 2019. The Trainee will be under the supervision of a Counsel of one of the arbitration case management teams in Paris.
Tasks entrusted to the Interns and the Trainees include:
- Read and draft documents related to arbitration cases in English (French and Spanish are required for specific teams)
- draft in English (French and Spanish are required for specific teams)
- legal research and read legal documents in English and one of the languages listed below
- preparation of conferences
- translation of legal documents
- ad hoc assignments as requested by the teams and the services of the Secretariat to which the intern may be assigned
- The candidate needs to still be registered as a student during the time of the internship. Recent graduates who are not anymore enrolled in an educational program are therefore not eligible to do an Internship at ICC;
- Fluent English is a requirement. Being fluent in one of the following languages is an advantage: Arabic, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish or any Eastern European language;
- Preference will be given to students in international commercial law arbitration with strong academic credentials and prior work experience.
- The Intern will receive a monthly gratification of about EUR 500 + meal vouchers + partial compensation of public transport costs;
- Nationals from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland should get an appropriate visa from the French consulate.

- a short CV (one page maximum focusing on the experience relevant to the Internship) and indicating your current studies (with expected graduation date);
- a cover letter (no model provided), describing in a detailed way which arbitration classes you followed and your first professional experience(s) in relation to arbitration;
- Two referees’ names with their respective contact details (if possible one academic referee and one professional referee who supervised you directly);
- an academic writing sample in English ( e.g. submitted paper during university studies).
