Every year, over 650 students from almost 100 nationalities participate as scholarship holders in the European Forum Alpbach. Join smart minds from around the world in a charming Alpine village, immersing yourself in an environment bursting with novel ideas, new ways of thinking and opportunities for making great contacts. With the Alpbach Scholarship Programme, young people under 30 (or under 35 for African scholarship holders) can attend this leading interdisciplinary conference and a variety of academic and artistic seminars. Take a look at this year’s Seminar Week programme!

Eligibility

Applications from all countries and all academic disciplines are welcomed. Artists and non-graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!

The basic requirements for all applicants are:

  • English proficiency (Minimum B2);
  • Certificates & Transcripts;
  • Minimum 12-Day Attendance;
  • Filled-out online application.

Specific Scholarship Requirements:

First-time scholarship

Austrian, Chinese and Taiwanese applicants

  • Between 18 and 30 years old (or between 18 and 35 for African applicants);
  • International;
  • Socially Engaged & Active;
  • Curious.

Alpbach Buddy Scholarships:

Alpbach Buddy Scholarships are not available to Austrian nationals.

For the rest of the candidates, the requirements are:

  • Have already attended the Forum as Scholarship holder;
  • Between 18 and 35 years old;
  • Bachelor Degree;
  • Interested in working with young people;
  • Knowledgeable about the Forum.

Seminar Assistant Scholarships:

Seminar Assistant Scholarships are open to all nationalities.

Requirements:

  • Have already attended the Forum as a Scholarship holder;
  • Between 18 and 35 years old;
  • Bachelor Degree;
  • Interested in Teaching & Learning Methods;
  • Interested in Specific Seminars at the EFA;
  • Available to help after the Seminar Week.

Benefits

There are the 3 first-time scholarship types:

  2. Partial Scholarship
  3. Full Scholarship

Applications are open between February 17 and March 31, 2020.
