Description
The fourth annual Global Education Conference is a free week-long online event bringing together educators and innovators from around the world, held Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22, 2013. The Global Education Conference is a collaborative, inclusive, world-wide community initiative involving students, educators, and organizations at all levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building education-related connections around the globe while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity. Last year’s conference featured 400 general sessions and 20 keynote addresses from all over the world with over 13,000 participant logins. The entire virtual conference will be held online using the Blackboard Collaborate platform (formerly known as Elluminate/Wimba) with the support of iEARN worldwide as the conference founding sponsor.
The conference seeks to present ideas, examples, and projects related to connecting educators and classrooms with a strong emphasis on promoting global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards solving real–world problems. Through this event, attendees will challenge themselves and others to become more active citizens of the world. Participants are encouraged to learn, question, create, and engage in meaningful, authentic opportunities within a global context. Keep in mind that this conference is not focused on technology exclusively; proposals must focus on global collaboration and tie to the mission of the conference.

Everyone is encouraged to submit a presentation proposal.

The conference will be free to attend.
Application
Proposals can be submitted HERE until November 15, 2013. The organizers encourage applicants to submit their proposal as early as possible because as soon as a proposal is accepted, the applicant is given the ability to select from the available presentation times (the time choices become increasingly limited closer to the event). Applicants may submit more than one proposal, but they will give priority to providing as many presenters the chance to present as possible.
Presentation proposals, once submitted, will be listed on the Global Education Conference website, with the opportunity for members of this network to view, comment on, and/or “like” a presentation proposal. This will give to the applicant and other members of the website the chance to share ideas and to make connections before, during, and after the conference. Additionally, it will allow the organizers to gauge the popularity of a topic or approach. All presentations will be recorded and released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License. Presentations should be at least 20 minutes in length, and all sessions must be completed (including Q&A) within one hour. All sessions will be held in the Blackboard Collaborate online platform.
