One of the two universities in the city of Rennes, France, the University of Rennes is a multidisciplinary institution offering academic qualifications in three main scientific areas: Science, Technology, Engineering and Health; Law, Politics, Economics, Management and Administration Science; Human Sciences (Philosophy and Communication). The University currently welcomes about 22,000 students (including about 2,000 from abroad), and more than 2,000 students continuing education. Students are supported by 1,600 teachers and full-time researchers and about 950 administrative and technical staff.

Students wishing to enroll in the University of Rennes 1 either as individual students or as part of some student exchange programs should contact the International Relations Department, which is responsible for guiding students through the application process.
Exchange students and scholarships
The University of Rennes 1 is particularly active in terms of international networking. It has signed 98 training and research bilateral agreements with higher education institutions from Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, the Near and Middle East. It participates in the EU mobility programs, as well as some international ones. Additionally, the University of Rennes 1 takes part in international joint research initiatives.
