Legal Traineeship at the European Ombudsman

Deadline: 30 April 2017 Open to: law graduates from EU countries Remuneration: around 1200 EUR in Brussels or 1400 EUR in Strasbourg Description

The European Ombudsman offers a limited number of traineeships which are intended to enable the trainees to add to the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their studies by giving them practical experience. Trainees shall be assigned to Strasbourg or Brussels depending on the possibilities of the Office.

Trainees are required to work under the direct supervision of a Legal Officer. They normally must undertake either investigation of complaints or the carrying out of research relevant to the work of the Ombudsman.

Deadline: ongoing (next deadline: 30 April, 2014) Open to: nationals from an EU Member States with university degree in law, fluent in English and French Remuneration: 25% of the basic salary of staff on grade A*6 step 1, including a household allowance, where appropriate


The European Ombudsman offers traineeships, twice a year, primarily to university law graduates. The traineeships take place either in Strasbourg or in Brussels according to the needs of the Office. Traineeships start on 1 September and 1 January each year.
