University of Geneva

geneva_logoSince its foundation in 1559 the University of Geneva is one of Europe’s leading universities devoted to research, teaching and dialogue. Its desire to expand its collaboration with partner institutions and broaden its appeal to researchers and students from around the world has made the UNIGE a “globalised university”, a meeting place for academic disciplines and various cultures, and a forum for ideas. The University of Geneva has a student body of 13 300 students while more than one-third of all students come from abroad. A wide spectrum of academic courses in diverse fields of study, such as the exact and natural sciences, medicine, social sciences and the arts are offered by UNIGE.

International Cooperation

While the UNIGE intends to expand its inter-university offerings, its educational collaboration continues to be mainly a matter of exchanging or inviting professors, researchers and students, with the assistance of programmes such as Erasmus and the Student Exchange Network of the Coimbra Group, or in partnership with other institutions (more than 100 cooperation agreements, academic networks). The UNIGE already runs several master’s programmes with other Swiss universities (in Lausanne, Basel and Neuchâtel) and grants a joint MBA in collaboration with Georgetown University (Washington, DC). The University has built up a vast research network as well, thanks to which its scientists work closely with researchers from UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), ESO (European Organisation for Astronomical Research), ESA (European Space Agency) and NASA.

    1. Dear Marigona,

Please visit the official website to which you have the link at the very end of the post and check the eligibility criteria. If TOEFL or GMT is mentioned there, than it would be necessary to have them and they usually are necessary. Regarding your other question, you might want to direct to the official contact persons and receive the information at first hand.

      Kind regards,
      Mladiinfo team
