Description

İstanbul Şehir University is a recently founded, non-profit, private higher education institution established by the Foundation for Sciences and Arts (Bilim ve Sanat Vakfı / BSV) in 2008. Its founder BSV is a renowned NGO functioning for more than 25 years in the field of social sciences, organizing many international and national academic activities and free seminars in related areas. With its young and qualified teaching staff, dynamic interdisciplinary curricula and eclectic programs, a wide range of elective courses, rich library and research-focused agenda, İstanbul Şehir University aims to become a distinguished institution in Turkey and its neighboring regions in higher education and research. İstanbul Şehir University invites international applicants to come study in Istanbul, Turkey.

Eligibility

– students who are either high school graduates or are studying their last year in high school,
– students with dual nationality who abandoned their Turkish or Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) citizenship and who complete their entire high school education abroad

Not Eligible
– Turkish citizens,
– citizens of TRNC,
– students with dual nationality one of which is either Turkish of TRNC,
– students with dual nationality who abandoned their Turkish or TRNC citizenship and who complete their entire high school education either in Turkey or TRNC,
– students with dual nationality who abandoned their Turkish or TRNC citizenship and who graduate from the Mission schools in Turkey
– students expelled from an institutions of higher education in Turkey due to disciplinary action

Types of Scholarships

The scholarships are valid for 5 years duration (1 year of English Preparatory Program plus 4 years of undergraduate study).  Scholarships and their coverage are as follows:

Full scholarship

The following resources are provided to students enrolled in the full scholarship programs, to be valid every semester for which they are registered:
– Exemption from tuition fees (20.000 Turkish Liras/TL, approximately $14.000)
– Dining scholarship for 9 months
– Free provision of basic course materials throughout their studies
– Free accommodation at the university dormitory
– Health insurance
– Monthly payment of 150 TL (approximately $100) for 9 months
Note: Applicants who pursue undergraduate study for the first time will be given priority in evaluation for full scholarship.

Partial (50%) scholarship

This is a scholarship type which provides students with partial exemption from tuition fees and gives access to some other opportunities. Students may choose one of the three options below:
– 5.000 TL
– 7.500 TL (free accommodation or dining included)
– 10.000 TL (free accommodation and dining included)

Note: Students have to pay the total amount at the begining of the academic year.
