The ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) is a high-quality public university institute, located in the centre of Lisbon, and one of the most dynamic and innovative in Portugal, mainly in the areas of Management and Economics, Sociology and Public Policy, Social Sciences and Humanities, Information and Communication Technologies and Architecture. ISCTE-IUL consistently aims for higher levels of excellence, innovation, internationalization and entrepreneurship. ISCTE-IUL has established national and international cooperation with a large number of universities and research institutes as well as public, private and third sector organizations. The Institute has a strong link to and impact in science, economy and society. Currently ISCTE-IUL has about 8000 students, a half of them in doctoral and master programs, and 400 professors. ISCTE-IUL is a research university with a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approach, including nine research units that conduct excellent research and continuously run more than 200 scientific projects.
Unide-IUL, Business Research Unit at ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa is offering 10 positions for Assistant Researcher in the following main scientific fields:
– Finance, Economics, and Accounting;
– General Management and Marketing;
– Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management;
A PhD in the scientific areas above mentioned is required. Applicants must have, at least, three years of post-doctoral experience and a good publication record.
Conditions of employment: A contract with a maximum duration of five years. The gross reward is equivalent to point 195 on the pay scale for Portuguese scientific researchers (rang of €45000/year). Accommodation allowance may be negotiated for the foreign candidates.
Eligibility

Qualifications and experience required: PhD in Finance, Economics, Accounting, General Management and Marketing, Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour and related scientific areas. Post-doctoral experience and a good publication record are valued.
- Required languages
English (preference but not mandatory). Portuguese and /or Spanish will be also considered. Knowledge of more than one language is valued.

Selection Criteria
A PhD degree is required. Additionally, a track of research achievement or high potential to publish in top peer-reviewed journals is valued. Former research and teaching experience in a foreign university is valued.The starting date foreseen is the 2011-2012 academic year. In accordance to the existing rules, the final selection of candidates will be subject to approval by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
