    1. Dear Salome,

If the country is not on the list then I think that makes you ineligible. You can still check with the German Embassy in Georgia to find out if they offer any kind of scholarship for your country.

      Kind regards

    1. Dear Susan,

The two years professional experience is listed as one of the requirements, so my guess is that you are not eligible. You can still inquire with the German Embassy or DAAD office in your country for other scholarship opportunities.

      Kind regards

I'm a graduate in BSc Horticulture with information technology and I want to do an Msc in Irrigation and Soil management. My home country is Kenya and I wish to know if I'm eligible to apply and if possible to have my studies In Kenya, and how can I proceed.

    1. Dear David,

The post clearly says "The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides scholarships in Germany for international students for a range of postgraduate courses at German Universities which aim at providing academically educated young professionals from developing countries with further specialized studies." So, no, you cannot have your studies in Kenya. For more information about this scholarship please contact your local DAAD office, or German Embassy or Consulate.

  6. Hi. Does the age limit of 36yrs apply to PHD program as well. Iam interested in PHD of development studies.

    Kampala, Uganda.

    1. Dear Yosam,

You probably should look for age limit details on the official website which is provided in the post. There are some courses for which age limit is 32 as well.

  7. Thank You for Posting,
I applied for this scholarship last year.
I received a notification letter about acceptance of my application.
Since then I have not been contacted as to the success or otherwise of my application.
Is there a way of knowing whether or not one's application is successful?
Or does silence means my application was unsuccessful?
    Thank You.

    1. Dear RawRaw,

Well if you haven't heard anything since last year, then I would assume that your application wasn't successful. Usually when an application is successful, the applicant is notified by the Institution where he/she submitted the application. Sometimes the absence of an answer means that the application wasn't successful, although it is a good and correct practice for all candidates to be notified of their status, regardless if the answer is positive or negative. But that does not apply to all Institutions. Everybody has a different practice.
Anyway, if you want to be sure, and not just assume that your application was unsuccessful, I would advise you to contact the DAAD office or German Embassy/Consulate (depending on where you submitted your application) and check the status of the application.

      All the best,
      Elena
