Postdoctoral Position in High Performance Computing, Estonia

Description

University of Tartu, Estonia is now looking for Research Fellow.

Selected candidate will be a member of research staff working under the supervision of a Professor, Senior Lecturer or Senior Research Fellow. Research Fellows shall not make independent contributions to a research theme or research project. During the elected term of office (3 years), a Research Fellow shall carry out research at least in the volume equivalent to that of two-thirds of a PhD thesis. The position of a Research Fellow presumes a certain share of teaching load. The teaching competences of a Research Fellow shall be equivalent to those of Lecturers. Research Fellows may be required to assume classroom teaching loads of up to 64 academic hours per calendar year (on average, 2 hours per week).
Unless work in the structural unit is organised otherwise, the immediate supervisor of a Research Fellow shall be the Head of the relevant Institute (Department).

Eligibility

The successful applicant will have:
● A PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering
● Strong software development skills
● Good knowledge or interest in scientific computing
● Experience in HPC
● Some experience in writing grant applications
● Strong background in building collaborative research with external partners
● Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
● Being comfortable in taking some teaching load in HPC

Remuneration

The salary is 2000€ per month. In addition, travel expenses will be reimbursed to successful applicant relocating from abroad.
