Description

The Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia offers scholarships for international students. The program (MA in 1,5-2 years, 120 credit points, 2,160 euros tuition for the whole program) is:

  • aimed at understanding the capitalist economies and economic development processes with a focus on developing and transitional countries;
  • explained by presenting more realistic, real-life related economic theories, e.g. development economics, evolutionary economics etc.
  • opposed to standard text-book economics taught at most universities.

The following areas of study are covered and interlinked with each other:

– public administration and the role of the state in economic development and growth;

– innovations, economy and finance;

– the essence and role of technologies (the topic of E-Governance).

Eligibility

Prerequisite for this program is a Bachelor’s degree and a good command of English. Main criteria for admission are motivation and interest, general competence and achievements, and professional background. It is assumed that any potential student will have adequate basic knowledge in economics, history, and technology.
There are no formal requirements for any field of graduation, or for specific test scores that tend to measure how well one takes these tests.  Because of its specific focus and trans-disciplinary approach, the MA is equally interesting as a first graduate degree right after undergraduate education, as an additional graduate degree after a less trans-disciplinary one, and as an early- or mid-career professional degree for those working in technology government fields, such as ministries, development and promotion authorities, and private companies and NGOs dealing with the subject matter.
There is no regional preferencing, and Estonians may also apply.
