Description

The annual awards EfA sixty scholarships, for a period of one to two months, unusually for a longer period. You can get a grant of EfA two consecutive years.

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled in Ph.D. and conduct research requiring a stay in Greece and relating to one of the following areas: Aegean Prehistory and Early History, Ancient Hellenic World, Hellenic World and possibly Balkan, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary. Bear in mind that a large part, if not all of the application is written in French.

Scholarship

Fellows receive a lump sum (scale reproduced below), to cover their travel expenses and subsistence (accommodation and food). If they wish and to the extent of our capacity to receive, scholars can be accommodated at the guest house in Athens. This accommodation is paid to all on payment of 12 euros per night. During their stay, fellows have permanent free access to the library. They can also travel if their research requires it and according to the possibilities of accommodation in the houses excavated on one or other of the archaeological sites where the work is performed in EfA. Application

Application for a grant of EFA for the year 2013:
The application should include the following five elements:

• A fact sheet 
• A curriculum vitae
• A description of the research for a PhD *
• A draft detailed work for the duration of the grant requested *
• A substantiated report of Professor directing the work of the candidate and possibly other recommendations

The deadline for filing your application is October 15, 2012. The entering online nomination forms for the EfA scholarships for 2013 will be available from September. 4, 2012.
