10th International MitOst Festival, Bulgaria

Description

The 10th International MitOst Festival will take place in Ruse, Bulgaria from 3rd to 7th October, 2012. 200 participants will have the chance to register. Any further registrations will be put on the waiting list. Nevertheless, all MitOst members can take part in the members’ assembly on Saturday, 6th October.

At the Festival you can expect an exciting programme:

After the opening ceremony on Wednesday night the programme continues with workshops, discussions, mini-projects and actions in the next few days. A highlight is the opening of the project house where the Project Advisory Board will present the whole variety of voluntary implemented MitOst projects of the year 2012 and where you have the opportunity to talk to the project leaders. A varied cultural programme (film screenings, readings, concerts, parties, city tours …) will round the festival off. On Saturday, the members’ assembly will be taking place all day which is only for the MitOst members accessible. As always, new representatives will be elected. You can also check the registration form, available only in German.

Till the Festival the programme guideline will be posted on the website. You will receive the detailed programme at the registration in Ruse.

Travel allowance

The organizers are very pleased by the ability of supporting you at the arrival to the Festival this year. Accordingly to the table (see here), we will refund you for coming with a flat fee, each for the city where you started, so that your travel costs are limited to an acceptable level. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the members from EU 15 and Switzerland and non-members.

Please keep in mind: the travel allowance doesn’t depend on the citizenship but main place of residence!

Those members, who cannot participate at the Festival for financial reasons, please report this by the treasurer (bretschneider(at)mitost.org). In reasonable exceptions, an additional grant is possible. However, the budget for this is limited.

Accommodation and catering

This year we will stay all together at the central located Hotel Riga. Single and double bedrooms are available there.

Bed and breakfast from Wednesday till Sunday is included in the participation fee. If you would like to have a single bedroom (additional costs: 40 EUR for four nights), please, specify it in the registration form. The number of single bedrooms is limited; therefore they will be assigned according to the order of applications.

Of course, you can book a hotel at your own. However, the participation fee cannot be reduced. Children under 12 will get free extra bed. You are responsible for lunch and dinner yourself. We will provide you a list of nice cafes and restaurants in advance.

We are organising a lunch snack for all members who will take part in the members’ assembly.

Participation fee

Each participant have to pay a Festival-contribution in which the accommodation and participation for all events are included. Participants without steady income can pay a reduced amount (please provide evidence). Members, who want to come only for the members’ assembly, will pay only half price of the fee.

Members coming from EU 15 with steady income will have to pay 90 Euros participation fee, and those without steady income – 60 Euros. Non MitOst members (guests) will have to pay 150 Euros participation fee. For the EU 12, steady income members have to pay fee of 60 Euros or 40 Euros if their income is unsteady. For guests coming from EU 12, the fee is 100 Euros.
For other East European countries the fees are 40 Euros, 20 Euros and 75 Euros  respectively.

You can cancel your registration until 15th September by writing to anmeldung(at)mitost.org. If you cancel after this date or you don’t cancel at all, you have to pay half of the fee even if you don’t take part in the Festival. Any other questions you might have about registration please send to the same e-mail.

MitOst takes financial risks through the reservations and the number of participants is limited; therefore, all MitOst members and guests are kindly requested to hand in the cancellation as fast as possible in case they have already registered but cannot participate in the Festival.

Note that what matters is the place of the residence, not the citizenship!
