Volunteer Coordinator Wanted at Proyecto Peru Centre

The Proyecto Peru Centre is looking for a volunteer coordinator for one of the non-profit organizations they are working with. The volunteer will have obligations for a period of 4 to 6 months  (during the period of January to April 2013).

There are 25 employees and 27 volunteers who currently work and volunteer their time and love to make sure Hamlet Yanapay can continue their work, offering opportunities to many beautiful children, adolescents, young mothers and old men with whom they share their everyday-life.

What the centre is looking for is a good coordinator/volunteer to take charge of the whole subject of volunteering obligations, including responding to e-mails and looking for other volunteers who would like join the center. The volunteering position includes working in children’s schools.

Yanapay Village is the dream and the life project of a young Peruvian in Cusco: Yuri Valencia Barrio de Mendoza. Yanapay Hamlet is a young man’s response to poverty manifested not only in the lack of money, but especially in the lack of opportunity, justice, morality, lack of education and many more things that can destroy the illusion of positive change in society. The mission is to provide love, ethics, discipline and responsibility of life alternatives which are based on the best use of the material, cultural and spiritual needs of each person or a community. The vision is for Village Yanapay to get spread to other areas to maintain his ideology and his desire to always be a provider of possibilities.

Eligibility

Applicants need to have:

  1. Experience in volunteering
  2. Excellent communication skills
  3. Knowledge in English
  4. Knowledge in Spanish (Intermediate level)

Benefits

During his stay, the volunteer will fulfill their obligations for free. The volunteer will be provided accommodation and meals during his whole stay for free.  The volunteer will have to cover the travel costs on their own.
