Description

Since 1997, the Institute for Advanced Study (IUSS) has activated an International Master Program in Cooperation and Development (Master CD). The growing importance of international development work and the increasing significance of international markets underline the need of a Program at the postgraduate level which trains practitioners in this field, individuals offering both specific professional skills and flexibility in order to meet the growing demands of the new world labour market. Citizens of the 21st century will need to be familiar with far more complex and new histories and geographies. Every development practitioner will eventually go through a phase of change and redefinition.

Programme

The programme comprehends a theoretic part lasting 8 months, usually from October to June, and taking place in Pavia. It comprises around 500 hours of classes and deepens the knowledge of Economics, Social and Managerial aspects related to Development and Cooperation. The Master is fully taught in English.

After the period in Pavia all students must carry out an internship which usually lasts between 3 and 6 months. Students go on the field or in the headquarters of NGOs, International Organizations and Governmental Institutions and have the great opportunity of earning first-hand experience by working side by side with professionals in the field of Cooperation and Development. During the internship, students must write a thesis linked to their experience or to a research issue of their interest. After the discussion of this final thesis students will be awarded the Master Diploma.

  1. "copy of family income statement (for foreigners) related to the previous year"? :)))

european countries should really reconsider their intentions, are they really into giving scholarships or it is just about advertising, ridiculous…

    1. Dear Philip,

Different universities are with different requirements. If you are interested in applying you should consider to follow the instructions.

      Kind regards,

      1. it is superfluous to take my comment so personally mladiinfo, you're not PR of the above mentioned institution, neither my point of view was narrowed toward you.

My stance is that the institutions' approach should be more sincere and with less barriers if they are to benefit young aspirational people as they obviously intent to claim. Besides good motivation it is necessary to demonstrate good realization. And Britain's and Netherland's programmes, followed by italian's always have some criteria that complicates the whole process. Let the people study and grow, freely as possible. And in doing so, adjust your programmes and criteria so that they can actually understand and reach them and submit their applications.

Anyway, I appreciate your advice mladiinfo, however I'd rather try more user friendly programme than this particular one. One that is not so self-centred, and more candid.

Thank you and may you be happy.

    1. Dear Mardar,

This is taken from the FAQ page from the post above:

"With reference to the scholarships available, in many cases, in Developing countries, no documents such as income statements are issued. How can I declare my financial situation?
You can apply to a scholarship inserting the most complete and accurate information you have in this regard. If you don’t have income statements, you could show pay slips (yours and of your relatives), other kind of declaration on other scholarship you might have beneficiated of in the past (university etc…), declaration of your employer, family statement showing the number of persons that compose your family, self-declaration on the motivations for which you ask to be considered for a scholarship."

      Kind regards,
      Mladiinfo team
