Description

The training “Strengths resonance of Eastern Europe” brings together 30 youth workers and educators from Eastern Europe from 5-14 August 2013 in Jelgava, Latvia. It is personal development training by introducing the coaching method of working with youth and building up networking in Eastern Europe.

The project “Strengths resonance of Eastern Europe” brings together eight countries: Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus. The project lasting 10 days will be held in Jelgava, Latvia. The main aim of the project is to improve youth leaders and youth workers skills in evolving young people’s initiative to develop civil societies in Eastern Europe.

The project partners created a formula of methods which can help in reaching this aim:

STRENGTHS (knowledge, experience, interests, believes, strengths, talents) + BEHAVIOUR (solution focused, strengths based, self-directed learning, coaching) + EASTERN EUROPE (environment as local community, country, region ) = STRENGTHS RESONANCE IN EASTERN EUROPE by building up civil society and active citizenship.

The intended results of the project are:

  • improvement of competence of youth workers and leaders;
  • exchange of knowledge, experience working with youth in Eastern Europe;
  • involvement and sharing knowledge with local community.

COSTS

The project has received a grant from the Youth in Action Program of the European Community. Your subsistence costs and training will be covered 100% and 70% of your travel costs.

The organizer of this training course is Children and Youth Centre “Junda.” JUNDA is a Children and Youth Centre where young people can spend their free time and participate in more than 50 interest groups (photography, music workshops, folk rock, studio of fashion, folk dance, dressmaking, leather work, ceramics, journalism, floristics, body-art, languages, computers, … ). It organizes international projects for young people personal development.

Eligibility

This Training Course is for 30 participants from Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, and Ukraine. It is recommended for youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers, EVS mentors/tutors, teachers, and educators.

Application

For non-European countries application deadline is the 20 June 2013 (to arrange visas) and for European countries is 1 July 2013 (at midnight). You will be informed of the selection decisions before 5 July 2013
