Are you up for a week fully packed with cultural experiences, lectures and workshops on education, business, diplomatic and cross-cultural relations, visits to the Council of Europe, their Youth Centre, and the European Court of Human Rights, all in the company of young people that want to discuss issues that you care about? Do you want to share your thoughts now with the exact same people that you might negotiate with in the future? Do you want them to have a less biased view of your culture – that is, do you want to understand each other better? You are encouraged to take part in shaping the future of a growing Europe in a democratic and thoughtful way. 

Participant Profile

Young people who:

  • want to shape Europe in a democratic and thoughtful way with less cultural biases
  • are ready to debate, be creative and break stereotypes in order to enhance understanding and cooperation between youth from all countries of the extended Europe
  • dare to live in the French countryside together with 200 other young people from across Europe

Where: In the scout base “Le Heissenstein”, on the beautiful countryside near Strasbourg

Costs

The participation fee for Strasbourg Meetings covers costs of the entire week: meals, events, lectures, workshops, visit to Strasbourg and the Council of Europe, concerts every night and tour to the Alsace adventure park. It also includes accommodation – although it is highly encouraged to bring your own tent and a sleeping bag.

The fee: The full price of participation is 350 €, but thanks to the generous sponsors of the organizers there was an opportunity to subsidize 200 participants, thus reducing the fee to a mere 149 €Note: once the limit of 200 participants is reached, there will be continuation of accepting participants but for the full price 350 €.

Accommodation: All participants will sleep in tents. Bringing own tent and sleeping bag is encouraged. There is a stationary showers with hot water and a lot of equipment for normal life on the nature. Please see more about Heissenstein scout base.
