Deadline: 31 July 2013
Open to: alumni of the GIZ programmes and global network activities including Climate Leadership Plus, Managing Global Governance, Education for Sustainable Development and Development Diplomacy Program
Prize: free travel and conference fees for presenting the winners’ project at the Berlin Change Days in November 2013

Description

GIZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, in collaboration with the Berlin Change Days 2013, will grant a Change Leadership Award for innovative projects that have succeeded in conceiving or bringing sustainable change to organizations, or parts of society.

The Change Leadership Award is intended for courageous projects that were designed to change on institutional and/or individual level, specifically to change:

  • organizational and management structures, routines, cultures, values, etc.
  • leadership behaviours and patterns
  • politics that aim at sustainable development
  • community initiatives that enhance livelihoods and/or the environment
  • the global governance architecture by shaping globalisation processes through innovative approaches and systems

The project should in particular aim at changing people’s behaviours and attitudes. The project should have included specific interventions that deal with challenges which were expected in the original design, or which emerged in the course of the implementation.

The partial or complete success of the project is one criterion, however a deep reflection of failure (“What could have been done differently?”) will be considered. The project should be a direct result of the applicant’s participation and/or a result in subsequence of an indicated joint dialogue and transformation process among participants and their institution in one of the aforementioned GIZ programs or global network activities.

Prizes

The winners of The Change Leadership Award from Africa, Asia, and Latin America will be invited to present their project at the Berlin Change Days 2013. GIZ will cover travel costs and conference fees.
