Grants on Prevention Against Illegal Use of Internet

Description

As part of the general programme Security and Safeguarding Liberties there was established a specific programme Prevention of and Fight against Crime. The objectives of the programme are to stimulate, promote and develop horizontal methods and tools necessary for strategically preventing and fighting crime and guaranteeing security and public order. The targeted Call for proposals – Illegal Use of Internet sets the following priorities:

  • supporting the co-operation between experts and law enforcement authorities on understanding and combating cybercrimes, such as cyber attacks, fraud online, identity theft and related crime, and illegal  trade on the Internet;
  • actions establishing standard forms for law enforcement requests to the private sector and vice versa;
  • co-operation to develop and exchange efficient methods of combating terrorism, racist and xenophobic  content on the Internet, including content inciting minors.

This also includes:

  • preventing and fighting sexual exploitation of children and on line sexual exploitation and abuse of children, including prevention of recidivism, identification of child victims through pornographic materials;
  • identification of offenders via credit cards as part of the European cybercrime policy;
  • enhancing cooperation between law enforcement authorities in the area of fighting child abuse through communication systems;
  • generally activities promoting cooperation with the European Cybercrime Centre at Europol, or supporting the Global Alliance against child sexual abuse online.

Eligibility

Applications must be submitted by bodies and organisations with legal personality established in one of the EU Member States.

Bodies and organisations which are profit oriented may have access to grants and may be  Applicant organisation/Coordinator only in conjunction with non-profit oriented or state organisations/public entities. Entities established in third countries (including acceding and candidate countries), international organisations and EU Agencies may participate only as Associate Partners on a non cost basis, and are not permitted to submit applications.

Grants

The total amount for co-financing of grants foreseen under this Call is € 5.000.000. Project proposals seeking EU co-funding of less than € 100.000 will not be eligible. There is no maximum budget limit but the amount of EU co-financing requested will be assessed with regard to the expected results and the overall project quality. The amount of EU funding requested cannot exceed 90% of the total eligible costs of the action.

Application

Applications must be submitted electronically via the PRIAMOS system and must be uploaded by 7 October 2013, 12:00 CET.
