International Arte Laguna Prize

Description

The Italian Cultural Association MoCA (Modern Contemporary Art), in collaboration with Arte Laguna Studio, organizes the 8th Edition of the International Arte Laguna Prize, aimed at promoting and enhancing Contemporary Art. The total amount of the Prize is € 180,000.

The free-subject Prize is divided into five sections:

  1. Painting
  2. Sculpture & Installation
  3. Photographic Art
  4. Video Art & Performance
  5. Virtual & Digital Art

Eligibility

The Prize is open to all Artists, with no restrictions of age, sex, nationality or any other qualifications. Each artist can participate with one or more artworks, also in more than one section. Below the technical details:

Prizes

The finalists will exhibit in the prestigious venue of Venice Arsenale and the Virtual Art section will be on view at Telecom Italia Future Centre.

Cash prizes of €7,000.00 will be awarded in five categories: Painting, Sculpture & Installation, Photographic Art, Video Art & Performance, Virtual & Digital Art

‘Artist in Gallery’ Prizes – 5 International Art Galleries will select 5 artists to organize personal exhibitions including: setting-up, transportation expenses (max. € 500), publication of a catalogue dedicated to the selected artist.

‘Business for Art’ Prizes – Riva 1920 will select an artist to make an artwork at the company using wood from the Venetian lagoon. The artist will be hosted for 10 days at the company and the project will be presented at Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.

‘Artist in Residence’ Prizes – Arte Laguna Prize has started 6 international collaborations with Partners offering to artists the opportunity to live a creative experience outside their artist studio in Italy, India, Slovenia and Germany

Application fee

For the partial support of the organization expenses, the application fee is 50 Euros for 1 work and 90 Euros for 2 works submitted to the same section; for every additional work (submitted to the same section) the fee is 45 Euros.

For under-25 artists the application fee is 45 Euros for 1 work and 80 Euros for 2 works submitted to the same section; for every additional work (submitted to the same section) the fee is 40 Euros each.

Application

The entries are open until 30 October 2013. In order to participate also in the special prizes “Artist in Residence” and “Business for Art” the deadline is 9 October 2013.
