ELIAMEP is an independent, non-profit and policy-oriented research and training institute. It neither expresses, nor represents, any specific political party view. It is only devoted to the right of free and well-documented discourse. ELIAMEP’s mission is to provide a forum for public debate on issues of European integration and international relations and to conduct scientific research that contributes to a better informed and documented knowledge of the European and international environment.

ELIAMEP is looking for a Researcher to join ELIAMEP’s Migration Research Team with a specialty on irregular and transit migration, in cooperation with Prof. Anna Triandafyllidou, currently head of this team. The appointment is for 9 months,  full time and requires a regular presence at the office in Athens, Greece. The successful candidate should be prepared to start on 1 October 2013.

Tasks:

  • Writing short articles, in cooperation with the Senior Research Fellow, for the presentation and diffusion of the project’s results to the Media
  • Promotion of the project’s networking through social networks and multimedia applications, as well as the promotion of the project’s results in Greece and abroad, in cooperation with the Senior Research Fellow

Eligibility

  • PhD in political or thematic social science on global and European governance, preferably in relation to immigration, is required
  • Experience in the analysis of management and control policies of migration, as well as in the analysis of discourse at the national and international levels
  • Experience and knowledge of the diffusion of results through social networks and the writing or forwarding short articles to the Media (Greek and international)
  • Full literacy of standard software packages, WordPress software  and  use/utilization of multimedia
  • Experience of working in international research projects is an asset
  • Fluency in Greek and English, other languages an asset
