Internships with East European Arts Festivals

Open to: curators, program managers and producers from performing arts festivals and independent performing arts institutions in Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, the Ukraine, Belarus, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Description

East European Performing Arts Platform is announcing an Open Call to apply for the Second Residence / Internship Programme – 2013. They offer 11 residencies / internships during the autumn and winter 2013 to performing arts curators, critics, producers and set designers.

Each residence/internship will start a week, or several days before this year’s edition of the host festival and continue during the whole festival programme. Successful applicants will be provided with free accommodation, flight ticket and stipend to cover living expenses.

Curator, critic, manager or producer is supposed to participate in the final festival preparations as well as different organization activities during the festival. Some of the festivals might suggest a work with the dramaturgical coverage of the programme (writing and editing of the reports and essays regarding performances and events). Residence MESS – 1 is designed as a workshop for theatre professionals dealing with the set design and visual aspects of the performing arts productions.

The residencies will take place during 2013 editions of:

1. Dialog International Theatre Festival, Wroclaw, Poland
Residence DIALOG-1 – October 9th to 19th, 2013.
Residence code: DIALOG-1
One position.
Profile: performing arts critic.
Responsibilities: active role in festival organizing activities and dramaturgical coverage of the 2013 festival edition.

2. International Theatre Festival MESS, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Residence MESS-1 – October 1st to 5th, 2013.
Residence Code: MESS – 1
Up to five positions.
Profile: set designer, visual artist working in the field of performing arts
Responsibilities: part in 3 days Workshop in set design led by Jan-Willem Van De Bosch (UK) and Liz Cooke (UK) organized by MESS Festival and British Council, supported by EEPAP.

3. TEMPS D’ IMAGES FESTIVAL, Cluj, Romania

Residence CLUJ-1  – November 4th to 18th, 2013.
Residence Code: CLUJ-1
One position
Profile: project manager, production manager in the field of performing arts, critic
Responsibilities: international relations and organization activities, work with international companies and festival guest.

4. Krakow Theatre Reminiscences Festival, Krakow and National Stary Theatre, Krakow, Poland

Residence KTR-1 – October 8th to 22nd, 2013.
Residence Code: KTR-1
One position
Profile: theatre and art critic, PR
Responsibilities: preparation of the texts and materials for promotional purposes, organization activities during the festival and National Stary Theatre showcase.

5. Lublin Theatre Confrontation Festival, Lublin, Poland

Residence LTC-1 – October, 7th to 21st, 2013.
Residence Code: LTC – 1
Profile: festival producer, project manager
Responsibilities: participation in the preparation and production of the main festival program  additional festival events. Organization activities and work with international companies and guest.

6. Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, Warsaw, Poland

Residence: IT-1 – November, 5th to 25th, 2013.

Residence: IT-2 – December 1st to 20th, 2013.

Two positions
Profile: international project manager, theatre critic
Responsibilities: internship in the International Project Department, promotional and organization activities.

Eligibility

Curators, programme managers and producers from the performing arts festivals as well as, independent performing arts institutions and project in Eastern Partnership Countries. Critics dealing with contemporary theatre and dance set designers are also eligible.

Residents of following countries are eligible: Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, the Ukraine, Belarus, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Each person may apply for one residence programme. However, if one desires, he/she may chose a second, optional programme, which will be taken into consideration in case the first choice programme runs out of free spots.
