Description

The Hebron Youth Development Resource Center (YDRC) is a space for Palestinian youth to develop their skills in different areas, engage with their peers, and become active members of their communities. Located in Hebron-Palestine, the YDRC offers a diverse range of youth programming, designed to empower youth and help them realize their leadership potential.

The Hebron YDRC was established in the Palestinian Child’s Home Club (PCHC), a sports and cultural organization that has worked to build a culture of peace and respect for human rights since 1996. The YDRC model has helped expand programming at the club, and today the center has grown into an indispensable resource platform for youth. The programming offered through the YDRC, coupled with continued sports and cultural opportunities, is helping to create a foundation of leaders to build a stronger community in the Hebron area. The YDRC serves as a hub for youth throughout the southern West Bank, as it is also linked with a network of eight affiliated youth clubs in the area.

Hebron YDRC has internships available in various departments throughout the year that provide interns with experience through working in a real work space. They are currently looking for different interns to assist in PR, Fundraising and Reporting, English teaching and Media and Photography.

Hebron YDRC is very flexible to work with interns depending on their schedule and free time. However, the minimum internship period is two months.

Duties may include:

PR, Fundraising and Reporting:

  • Editing of all English-language reporting and communication material, to ensure accuracy  and consistency with quality standards.
  • Assist in organizing events and oversee logistics, fundraising, and PR events, including invites, venue, materials, presentations and press coverage.
  • Work closely with the different YDRC departments to help craft and implement communications and fundraising strategy, coordinate publicity and maintain consistency in organizational messaging.
  • Responsible for proposal management, including researching funding opportunities, and writing proposals for timely submission.
  • Prepare and update a database of potential donors, including requirements and funding opportunities; register with available donors, apply for available pre-qualifications opportunities.
  • Establish guidelines for best practices in grant applications / proposal submission to be used by management for reference.

Media & Photography:

  • Assist the Media Department in preparing English press releases, pitch letters, feature stories and other press materials as needed.
  • Assist the Media and Management team in developing and preparing content for periodic reports, monthly newsletters and quarterly staff newsletters.
  • Assist in designing advertisements, brochures, flyers and additional marketing materials as needed.
  • Assist in managing all website content.
  • Develop email campaigns and E-newsletters to enhance awareness of organization activities.
  • Establish guidelines for best practices in communication and reporting to be used by management for reference.

English Language Teaching

  • A native English speaker is needed to conduct classes in English to students.
  • Candidate must be able to prepare class work, plan classes and mark and correct work handed in.
  • Arranging extra-curricular activities for students and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competition, dinners and excursions.

Young people worldwide are eligible. They are specifically searching for people with skills in Public relations, Fundraising and Reporting, English teaching and Media and Photography.

Remuneration

Hebron YDRC will provide Interns with Lodging, please click HERE to view their premises and venues. Lodging will be at the YDRC Hostel – each room includes air conditioning and a refrigerator. Just a few meters from the hostel, there is a nice cafeteria where internationals, volunteers and staff are always meeting to cook, drink coffee and enjoy each other’s company., Wireless internet is available throughout the YDRC.

The interns will work closely with the YDRC staff, in a very comfortable environment and a dynamic team, the YDRC is one of the biggest organizations in the south of West Bank so usually the interns get many opportunities through their staying at the YDRC.

Hebron YDRC does not cover airfare or food, but most of the times the interns cook and share food which makes it more fun and exciting.
