Training Course “Volunteering 4 Peace”, Serbia

Description

With this project, the Educational Center Krusevac wants to provide participants with competencies to be successful volunteer managers, to be able to effectively coordinate and develop volunteer resources within peace-building projects and peacebuilding activities of their organizations. This training course will also address Forum Theater as technique to be used in peace-building activities. The main idea of forum theater is to encourage and educate youth to open the dialogue about how to handle certain conflicts or problems.

The main themes addressed on this training course:

  1. Basic concepts and values of volunteerism
  2. Volunteer management in all its stages
  3. Peace and peacebuilding
  4. Conflict
  5. Volunteering in post conflict areas
  6. Volunteering for peace (managing, challenges and recommendations)
  7. Forum theatre as a tool for peacebuilding processes

The training course will be held on 8-16 February 2014 inVrnjacka Banja, Serbia, and the working language will be English.

Eligibility

Youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, volunteers, activists from Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia.

Costs

The accommodation, food and working material costs are fully covered. Travel costs will be reimbursed up to 70 percent of the total amount of costs per participant. Visa costs for countries that need it are covered 100 percent. There is no fee for this training course. Please, keep all your receipts, tickets, boarding passes in order to be able to reimburse your costs.
